1.      Soft tonneau roll up covers are normally made from soft but very flexible cloth-backed vinyl materials or synthetic covers. It is an affordable tonneau compared to all other tonneau in the market today. Though it is affordable, it doesn’t mean the quality is cheap. This soft tonneau utilizes Velcro which is an industry standard in fasteners, though some soft roll up may have snaps or use a bedrail system instead. It is easy to install, use and put away.

2.      Retractable tonneau covers are hard cover types that are usually praised for their efficiency when being rolled up into a cylindrical or flat canister. It is priced at an amount higher than all soft tonneau covers not only because it’s a hard type bed cover, but it offers a higher security. Even without the flexibility that a roll up brings to the table, you will still be able to haul larger items in the truck bed. If you are okay with having to install by drilling and that the canister may take some space on the bed railing, then this is the tonneau for you.

3.      Similar to a retractable because it is a hard tonneau type, folding tonneau covers have the same higher security than a soft tonneau. The main point of this cover is that these are folded to each other to open and unfolded to close the truck bed. Folding types also allow you to utilize and access more parts of your truck bed compared to a retractable one.

4.      Fiberglass Tonneau is the most expensive of the bunch. True to its name, this tonneau is made out of fiberglass polymers that is one of the most durable materials that can withstand the test of time, which is perfect for any pickup truck. With the ultimate security and ease, this is the tonneau for those that have the budget for it.
